Are the Feds Reading Your Email?

Posted on Saturday 24 December 2005

There is a neat little trick to find out if your email is being read by anyone who shouldn’t be.

It basically involves access to a webserver and then setting up two email accounts - one domestic and one foreign.

Then you send yourself an email with a link to a unique and otherwise unreachable page on your webserver.

When you check the logs of your server, you will be able to see if anyone has accessed that page as well as their IP address.

That’s when you know you are being snooped on.

Ingenious!
