China’s Counter-Propaganda in Gaming

Posted on Wednesday 30 November 2005

It seems our Chinese cousins, or at least their government, are a little miffed about computer games being so popular in their country.

This symbol of western decadence which is apparently corrupting the youth of China has now induced a government-sponsored counter-measure.

Instead of the violence and Western decadence promoted by video games popular in China, the Communist Party has decided to release a game with heroes based on comrades of old, who were famous for doing good deeds.

Helping old ladies and darning socks will be the gaming counter-measure to the shooting and killing of Western games.

Something tells us that Sony and Microsoft shouldn’t pack up shop just yet.
